Cookies

What are cookies? In relation to websites, a cookie is a small set of data that is sent from the web server to the user's browser and stored by the browser on the user's device (computer, tablet, cell phone, or other) and can be read or later retrieved by the server itself. They allow the website to store some useful information within a session or in subsequent accesses that the user makes to the site.

Does the www.ianritter.com website use cookies? Yes. We use cookies to improve our website and to provide services and functionality to users. You can restrict or disable the use of cookies through your web browser. However, in this case some features of the website may become inaccessible.

Why do we use cookies? Cookies may be used for a number of reasons. In some parts of the sites, cookies are essential and without them you may not be able to navigate the site properly, for example.

In other parts they are used to obtain information to provide specific services, and in addition, some external services (third parties) may need to install cookies on your browser in order to provide the relevant services.

What types of cookies are used on our website?

Technical cookies

Technical cookies are those used for the sole purpose of "carrying out the transmission of a communication on an electronic communication network, or to the extent strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user to provide such service" (see art. 122, paragraph 1, of the Privacy Code).

They are not used for further purposes and are normally installed directly by the owner or manager of the website. They can be divided into

Browsing or session cookies: They are used to record data useful for normal navigation and use of the website on the user's computer (allowing, for example, to remember the preferred size of the page in a list). These cookies can then be distinguished according to their persistence on the user's computer: those that are deleted automatically at the end of each navigation are called session cookies. If, on the other hand, they have a longer life, they are called permanent cookies.

Functional cookies:These cookies allow the website to remember choices made by the user in order to optimize functionality. For example, functional cookies allow the website to remember a user's specific settings, such as country selection and, if set, permanent login status.

Google Analytics cookies with ANONYMOUS IP: In order to optimize the information and services offered, the www.ianritter.com website uses Google Analytics, a service provided by Google that enables the tracking and analysis of users' online behavior with regard to time, geographical location and behavior on the site. Users' IP addresses are anonymized upon entering the site. The information collected is used only for static purposes by the owner of the site, without being passed on to third parties or used for proliferation. The Goolge Analytics cookie is a third party cookie that can be equated to a technical cookie if it is only used by the site owner for statistical purposes only.

How do I disable or remove cookies?

Most browsers accept cookies automatically, but you can set your browser not to accept cookies, either automatically or upon request. We do not recommend that you disable cookies as your normal browsing experience may be impaired and some or all of the features of some sites may not be available. If you do not want your computer to receive and store cookies, you can change the security settings of your browser.
